We decided to check out Centre Island today. Daddy wanted to go the ferry early because it's usually very busy on the weekends. However, by the time we got there- around 10:00am it was already packed! We also had to pay a hefty $30 parking fee for parking near the docks. Sheesh. Anyways, here's a little recap of how our day was spent:
All strapped in the car, ready to go.
This is you waiting for the ferry boat to take us to Centre Island. You just loved wearing your sunglasses.
We are in the boat! It was your first time riding a boat. You kept saying, "Boat, boat!"
You and mommy.
While looking out the window you kept your index finger on the black dot on the window. I think it was a paint mark. You are one weird kid...
I think you were looking for boats in the water.
When we landed daddy and I headed to Centreville. However, this sign amused me. It says "Please walk on the grass".
Oh no! Somebody dozed off! Just when we got to Centreville... Talk about a party pooper.
Welcome to Centreville. It was a gorgeous day.
Still sleeping...
Daddy and I scoped out the theme park while you were conked out. We both hadn't been here before.
There were lots of ducks, swans, and goose in the water.
Still sleeping...
Finally, daddy made me wake you up. He wanted you to enjoy the rides. I think he was more excited than you were.
Look at grumps.
It didn't take you long to be happy. I gave you some chicken fingers to eat and you were good to go.
You and daddy walking.
Where to?
This was your first ride. You were so confused as this was your first ride ever. You kept looking around and you pursed your lips very tightly the whole time.
Daddy doesn't enjoy any rides so he watched from the sidelines. He did take lots of pictures though.
Our next ride was the train ride. Again, you were more confused than anything. You sat very still in the train with mommy and looked at the scenery.
We passed by the rides that were going over our heads.
Look at the long train. Unfortunately when the ride was over you didn't want to get off and kept saying, "No, no, no, no!" When I forced you off you threw a huge tantrum. It was a very stressful situation...
Luckily I was able to calm you down for our next ride- riding the old-fashioned car. You really enjoyed this one too.
You steered the wheels and it was a blast! However, just like the last ride, you did not want to get off the ride. I had to endure another tantrum session while onlookers looked on...
Next, we decided to head to the beach area to see the rest of the island. By this time you were pretty cranky and tired.
I'm not sure what these are, but aren't they pretty?
There were so many sailboats in the lake. What a beautiful day!
Lots of people were biking, taking pictures and just taking everything in.
A close-up of all the sailboats.
It's days like this that I love my city.
And this is looking back into the city. See CN Tower to the right?
And there's the beach where people were sunbathing and playing volleyball.
Now it's time to go home!
Zzzzzzz...
