The best weekend in a long time…

This weekend was the best weekend I've had in a long time… I've been filled with so much sadness with memories of my dad that it's been hard to be happy… I was so sad to see this long weekend end.

Friday night my friend Lana treated me to my early birthday lunch at a great Japanese restaurant called Kasa Moto. Then on Saturday we just relaxed at home by having a barbecue in our backyard. On Sunday we went to church in the morning and then Kendall and I met with Auntie Jess and Uncle Wayne downtown to check out the Victorious Festival (a Christian festival with proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society). Daddy took you swimming so you guys didn't go with us. We tried to get halmi to go, but she just wanted to stay home :-(

Today (Civic Holiday), we went to Canada's Wonderland in the morning where we rode lots of big kid rides (the first time you were able to do so!) and then we went for a outdoor BBQ at Sunnybrook Park with Auntie Sara, Uncle Wayne, Auntie Jessica, Uncle Wayne, Emma, Noelle, halmi, Dan's mom, brother, Dan's SIL, Sophia and Isabelle. It was such a nice way to end the weekend. I just wish halbi was with us…

You riding the carousel. I realized that you were tall enough to ride a lot of the big kid rides. We ended up
riding Klockwerks, The Fly and Thunder Run. You had a blast!

Kendall stayed with daddy while mommy and you rode the big kid rides. Here she is doing the kimchi squat.

On our way to Sunnybrook Park, you guys passed out. Celebration!

It was supposed to rain today, but it turned out to be a gorgeous day.

We didn't even have to bring any toys. All the kids had a blast running around. We must do it again!

Kendall was having so much fun. Here she is hopping towards me.

"Hi mommy!"
Uncle Wayne got all the kids (minus Noelle and Isabelle) to carry the mat to the car. You guys were being
good little helpers…
…but failed miserably #fail.

The happiest place on the planet…

…and no, it's not Disney World. It's Ikea!
Ikea just knows how to do things right. They are so accommodating to families- they have affordable house goods, affordable food, their washrooms are built with little ones in mind (did you see the kid sinks??), and their kid's showroom section is every kid's fantasy playroom.

I didn't really have anything to buy there, but today was a day where I was just bored and wanted to get out of the house. Auntie Jess and I have been really bonding over this Summer because you and Emma are at an age now where you play really well with each another. We've been meeting pretty frequently during the weekends and today was a day where we decided Ikea would be a great place to meet. You and Emma had a blast playing the kid's showroom. I think you were there for almost 2 hours!

Pretending to sleep.

Usually we have you in the shopping cart when we come to Ikea, but today, we let you roam free with
Emma and you were going everywhere, touching everything and you guys really enjoyed your time there.

This ceiling lamp caught my eye. I think it will be really cute in your bedroom. I really don't like the ceiling
lamps on our 2nd floor so I'm always on the lookout for nice lamps.

And the price is good too! I'll have to keep a mental log of this.

What I did end up buying were these fake flowers. Yes, fake flowers don't have the best rep, but these
looked pretty darn real.

I cut the stems a bit shorter and put them in these soda bottles that I have been collecting. I think flowers
look so good in cool soda bottles. What do you think?

I put these bottle vases on the ledge going down to the basement. I think it makes this area a bit prettier because
of the hit of colour.

I actually took this photo of you while we were at Burger's Priest. They opened one not too far from
where we live so I took you there for lunch. You absolutely loved their french fries. You were playing
with your iPad while I was waiting for our food. Look at those lashes! Women would kill for those lashes.

Sunday at the grandparent's

Since Auntie Jessica and her family are living at Toronto halbi and halmi's house, we've sort of made it a thing to visit every Sunday afternoon. That way, you can play with Emma (who you love) and I can see halbi and halmi.

Today, halbi took you and Emma upstairs to his bedroom. You and Emma love going upstairs to lounge on his bed while watching cartoons. When I went up to check on you, I saw the three of you side-by-side lying on his bed. It was so cute!

Smallest to biggest.

All wearing funky panama bottoms.

Ironman and Wolverine- the 2013 edition

I'm so glad I get to work home on Thursdays and Fridays when I'm not in production at work. Luckily Halloween fell on a Thursday this year so I was able to take you trick or treating. Originally Auntie Jessica and Emma were supposed to join us, but the weather was terrible so they cancelled. I called up my friend, Jen, and her son Nate to join us as they just live around the block. Daddy and Kendall stayed home because the weather was so bad and daddy was giving out the treats. Even though we bought 1,000 treats, we ran out in the blink of an eye. That's how crazy it is in our neighbourhood…

Mommy & Aidan day

Now that you are older, it's much easier taking you out with me. I don't need to pack food, diapers, wipes and all the stuff you have to bring when you have a baby. Plus, it's more fun. I can take you to places and you actually understand where I'm taking you.

Today, I took you out with me to return your library books that we had borrowed. It's becoming out little tradition- borrowing books, reading them before your bedtime and then returning them for new books. After the library, we went to eat Pho because I was craving it. You also like noodles too. I had called Auntie Jessica to see if they wanted to join us for dinner, but she didn't pick up. However, she called when we were almost finished eating and invited us over to her house. You love going to Emma's house so you were so happy when I told you we were going there.

Emma got a new swing/slide playground set from her paternal grandparents for her birthday
so you guys played outside for quite a bit.

You loved her playground set so much!

Look how cute you guys are.

It was a hot day and the sun was especially bright. I commented how this area looked like
heaven and Auntie Jessica said she said the same thing to Wayne the other day! We always
say the same things. I guess it's a twin thing.
Because it was so nice out, we decided to go to Canada's Wonderland for a little bit. It was such a blast going with Emma. You really enjoyed it.

Sunday fun-day

What a long day we had. Daddy couldn't go to church today because his right ankle had swollen to the size of a 9-month pregnant woman's foot. And it was also black and blue. He had sprained his ankle at the soccer tournament yesterday. Him and his soccer… Ugh!
Anyways, he had to stay home to rest his foot so I took you to church in the morning while Kendall stayed home with daddy. You wore your new sunnies I bought you this week. Don't you look so handsome? It's a little big for you, but I love how these look on you.

In the evening we went over to your Toronto grandparents' house for dinner.

When we got to your grandparents' house I took some photos of you playing in their front yard.

What a little rascal you are.

Such a cutie pie.

This is when I love you the most- when you're happy and playful.

Your cousin, Emma, was there too so you guys played while watching TV.

Emma always goes in front of this french door and lurks!

Auntie Sara and Auntie Jessica was there too.

Emma walking in flip flops inside the house. Better take it off before egg woman (grandma) sees you!

Caught in the act.

Egg woman… er… grandma making Sam Gae Tang.

The yummy deliciousness of Sam Gae Tang.

Your Toronto grandpa playing with his Samsung tablet we (Auntie Sara, Auntie Jessica and mommy)
got him for his birthday.

I guess you learned this Korean song during your time at Korean school. I wasn't sure what the
song was called, but your Toronto grandpa was able to find it on YouTube.

You were also watching one of your favourite cartoon shows- The Octonauts. While we were watching
your grandma said how this green character looked like Kendall.

However, you had assigned Kendall to this character- Peso (the penguin). You declared yourself
as the captain- Barnacles (the polar bear), mommy as Kwasii (the cat) and I don't know if you
assigned daddy as anything…

The Octonauts crew.

Look at the finished Sam Gae Tang. Doesn't it look yummy?? It was just as tasty as it looked.
You, even as a picky eater, gulped this down.

I took this super cute picture of you and Emma when she came back to our house to play.
You really love Emma and so does she. This makes me sooooo happy.
