Let's hope this place works out

I was able to find another venue for your birthday party- Bulgogi Brothers.
We actually went to a friend's daughter's 1-year birthday party here a few months ago and our other friend's dad is a co-owner here. We decided to go here for daddy's Father's Day lunch to check out the food again and to talk to the manager.

It was a hot day so Aidan and daddy both wore muscle shirts.

The food was good, but the service was horrible.
I don't know what happened because the service was good the last time we came here.
Let's hope the service is good at your party…

You were so loud. I didn't know why, but later I found out it was because you pooped in your diaper!
Oh Kendall…

This is the party room area.

The bar. The drinks will be included in the meal at no extra cost.

Fireplace

There were square tables set up, but I will get them to set up round tables. There will also be
white tablecloths on top of the tables.

This wall will have the head table set up.
I'm not happy because I had in mind the white back drop at Dahn when I was designing the
banner and backdrop decorations. Bulgogi Brothers won't be setting up a white back drop so
I'm not sure if the banner and decoration will pop.

There are doors leading to the patio. The manager said if the weather is nice we can utilize this
space. That will be nice!

The wall across from the head table wall will have the buffet station set up.

Again, we will be using round tables.

There was a $25 menu vs a $35 menu. We will be going with the $35 menu and we will also
ask them to include sushi in the menu. I don't think they will charge us extra for that. I underlined
what is different from the $35 menu.

To a wonderful father…

You made these cards for daddy earlier this week, but we hid them in your sock drawer until this morning so that we could surprise them to daddy while he was still in bed.

You know, daddy may be stern to you sometimes, but he is a wonderful father. He is the guy that wanted to be a daddy so badly… To be honest, I didn't think I wanted kids after I got married, but daddy is the one that convinced me that he would do everything if I had you. I hear so many moms complaining to me about their husband not doing anything and then going on Facebook and posting how their husband's are the 'world's best daddy' and it makes me wonder… I know that daddy is a great father to you and Kendall and I don't need to announce it the whole world to convince myself that he is. He thinks of you and Kendall before himself and it makes me so proud that I married a guy like him.

This is what you made for daddy at daycare. You were so proud of yourself when you presented
this to daddy.

Here's another 'piece' that you made.

It seems to be a puzzle.

I'm not sure if this is your handprint, but it's so cute.

Behind the card it had the things that you filled out. I'm not sure if all the answers are correct…
I think daddy's favourite food is hamburgers; his favourite sport is hockey;
daddy is the best at sports; daddy is 38 years old (turning 39 on June 30!); and
daddy DOES NOT tuck you to bed, I do! Otherwise, the other answers are correct. Keke.

Mommy and Aidan day

Daddy worked from home today because I had to take you to your new school in the morning for your j/k observation and then to get your allergy test redone in the afternoon.

Your j/k observation involved us going into your new junior kindergarten class and observing the senior kindergarten students. It was only a 20 minute session, but it was great as you got to meet your new teacher- Ms Stamkos and see some of the older kids play. You and 4 other kids were observing and it was so funny because you guys all looked deathly scared coming into this new surrounding. One kid, Cole, looked shell-shocked the whole time we were there. We sat in different stations and one kid, TJ, was talking to you the whole time. He was talking about his birthday that was in October and he even invited you to come and have a cupcake. It was so cute! Ms Stamkos came around and saw you stamping your name on a piece of paper. She got TJ and another s/k student- Maya to take you around the class and show you the different stations. They were holding your hand and taking you around. I think you really liked it there.

Afterwards we went to Shoppers Drug Mart so that I could mail out your Vancouver grandpa's Father's Day gift. You tend to love doing errands with me or daddy.
We went back home to eat lunch and then headed out to get your allergy test redone. I needed to know that you were still allergic to peanuts before you started j/k in September. Unfortunately you still are allergic :-(

Even though it was a long day I decided to take you grocery shopping at No Frills as there were no groceries in the house. You really enjoyed helping mommy pick out all the produce and place it in the bags. I thought that since you didn't nap you would be all cranky, but you were so good.

By the time we got home it was close to 4:30pm. We had dinner and then mommy took you to the part to get you tired out. It turned out to be a beautiful day so the park was busy with lots of kids and parents. While we were playing at the park you kept saying to me, "Mommy, I love you!" It really melted my heart. I know pretty soon I'll be going back to work so I'm trying to cherish these days as much as possible. I'm so sad that I won't spend as much time with you when I go back :'-(

Too tired to function

Saturday is always a tiring day for the whole family. You go to Korean school from 10am to 2:30pm (with no nap time) which means we have to drop you off and kill time until we pick you up. Your Korean school is pretty far from our house so sometimes it makes no sense to go home after we drop you off.
Today, we decided to do a little shopping after we dropped you off (you needed new shoes and we also had to buy Father's Day gifts for your grandfathers). After shopping we took your Toronto grandparents out for lunch since daddy didn't see them in a long time.
By the time we picked you up at 2:30pm we were all so tired. Kendall crashed right away on the way home and you were so close to passing out, but I forced you to stay awake so that you could nap at home. I find that when you do a power nap in the car you never nap at home. Kendall must have been so tired because she fell asleep before her thumb could make it into her mouth. She usually sleeps sucking her left thumb. Haha.

To the best daddy in the whole wide world!

You made daddy a sweet card at daycare this week and this is what you brought home on Friday. We gave it to daddy on Friday and you were so proud of showing it off to him that I couldn't resist taking some photos of you.

I think the left-hand thing is supposed to be in the shape of a tie. It had a poem written on it that was so touching.
On the right was your Father's Day card.

And here is your beautiful artwork inside the card. My amazing artiste.

Close-up of the poem.
Daddy is an amazing father to you and I couldn't ask for a better father figure. I can tell how much you truly adore him and I hope and pray that you grow up knowing that daddy loves you more than anything in this world.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to a wonderful dad and husband.

I couldn't have asked for a better father for you. He loves you so much and shows his affection to you every single day. Usually Korean father's are so stoic and emotionless, but daddy is the opposite of that when he's around you. I truly believe that he was meant to be a father.

Today we went to Linda Restaurant to enjoy a wonderful lunch and stroll around the outdoor mall. We had ordered the seafood fried rice a few months back and couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. We knew we had to order it again when we got there. It wasn't as good as the first time I had it, but it was still good nonetheless. I just love days like this- having good food and good company. I look forward to next year when we celebrate another Father's Day together. It doesn't get enough credit as Mother's Day and it's just not fair!

Father's Day BBQ party

Today we had a Father's Day BBQ for your Toronto grandpa at our place. We invited Auntie Sara/Uncle Dan, Auntie Jess/Uncle Wayne, and of course your Toronto grandma/grandpa. We got good news from Auntie Jess this Thursday in that she is now past the critical stage of her pregnancy. She still has to be very careful, but she can be a little more mobile. That's why she was able to make it. Praise God!
It was a great time just eating and talking and I'm so glad we were able to get together as a family. We need to do it more often.

This is you getting ready for the party by brushing your teeth. You are such a good boy in that you always try to mimic what we do. I wasn't able to post a video of you last time of you brushing your teeth so here is a video now:

Father's Day party at daycare

Daycare threw a pre-Father's Day party for all the daddy's in your class. All the daddy's were invited for a little afternoon party where you had cake and ice cream and you gave daddy the t-shirt that you had made earlier in the week. Although mommy wasn't able to attend here is a little snapshot daddy took of the party. Look who's the pig! You are your mother's son because mommy also loves ice cream!

Best gift ever!

You know what's coming up? Father's Day!

Daycare had asked me last week if I can bring in a blank t-shirt for them to make t-shirt art for the dads as Father's Day gifts. I thought it was such a cute idea. I bought a 3-pack of plain, white t's and planned on giving one to daycare and the rest to daddy. Then I thought I should give daycare one more shirt for them to design for your Vancouver grandpa. Since they live so far away from us we can never celebrate Father's Day together. I thought what better idea to send him something meaningful instead of just a card and money. Now I wish I did one for your Toronto grandpa, but we are planning to take him out anyways for Father's Day.

Daddy will be getting his shirt next Friday. I kind of told daddy about it already even when daycare told me to keep it a secret. I had to since we had to mail it out today.

Anyways, besides that it was a tough day for you. You are having a difficult time sleeping lately. You wake up constantly and today you woke up super early- around 5:30am. I was really frustrated because I was so tired. I was hoping you would go back to sleep, but you didn't. Luckily mommy worked from home today, but I was not happy with you. When I dropped you off at daycare around 8:30am you were pretty tired already. Daycare told me that you were very cranky today and just not in a good mood. I wonder why! I was able to access the daycare video access at home so I checked how you were doing in the afternoon.

It's black & white because the lights were turned off. I guess the cameras don't pick up colour if it's too dark inside... You are the 3rd kid from the top on the right. That's your big, black head there. Aigoo aigoo...

Around 2:40pm the kids started waking up one by one.

Now everyone's awake... er... except you!

One of the teacher's eventually woke you up, but you were still so tired that you just lay on the mat. Poor baby!
