Month-by-month- Month 11

Your brother Aidan was home today so I was able to get him to do peekaboo on you to get your attention. It's so hard getting you to stay still these days!

I styled your hair today for the shoot so I think you look super cute.

I can't wait until your hair is long enough so I can do pigtails or a ponytail on you.

Even though I was able to get some of photos of you staying still you can see from the above
outtakes that these photo shoots are H-A-R-D. It usually involves you eating the chair or shoes.

So here's what's new:

- You can stand on your own for 3 seconds and move side-to-side by holding onto objects.
- You can climb up the stairs on your own.
- You can put food in your mouth without dropping it as much.
- You can sip from your sippy cup for a second. I usually have to assist you.
- You put everything in your mouth.
- You said 'daddy' a few days ago. You already have said 'um-ma' in the past.
- You have started doing what daddy calls the 'bird call'. It's where you inhale your breath to make this particular sound. You always do that when you're excited or happy.

Month-by-month- Month 10

You're now in the double digits!

I can't believe I only have 2 more months until I go back to work :'-(

It was so hot and humid today that I put your in short sleeves and shorts when I went out to do errands. Even though I was out for most of the day you were a pretty good baby. You weren't really fussy and I'm happy to say that you're back to your normal self. No more roseola! 

I also have very exciting news- I got word from Auntie Jessica that she is going to have a baby girl! I'm so happy for them! I can't wait until you guys all grow up and become close cousins.

I wet your hair for this shoot (why didn't I think of that in my previous shoots?!) so that your
sides aren't so pouffy. I think you look so cute here!

I always tell daddy that I think you have such a cute profile. I just want to bite every single part
of your body. Nom nom nom.

Month-by-month- Month 9

I accidentally took your month-by-month photo today when you are actually 9-months tomorrow. Oops! I guess it's mommy brain. 

Ack, I just hate that I have 3 months left now before I go back to work. What am I going to do??? It was so hard when I had to go back when Aidan turned 1, but I think it will be harder this time around since you're my baby girl…

Aidan was being my photo assistant by trying to get you to smile for the camera. Being the goofball that he is he kept wanting to put on the bow that you had in your hair. Here is a quick snapshot I took of him after your photoshoot.

He just cracks me up.
Excuse the no pants in the shot. He was in the midst of stripping to go for his bath when I was
doing this photoshoot.

Daddy wanted to get in on the action. He just adores you. 

So here's what's new:

- You are an expert crawler now.
- You can pull yourself up by holding onto an object and you can also sit yourself down from a sitting position.
- I caught you yesterday standing still on your own without holding anything for 3 seconds in your play pen.
- You hardly take naps anymore. You now take 1-2 short naps during the day.
- You sleep at 8pm and wake up around 10am. I usually feed you at midnight to get you to sleep through the night.
- You never sleep when we go out anymore. I think you are too excited by everything that you see.
- The dress you are wearing in this photo is actually for 12 months so I think you're pretty big, but then again, you still look pretty small compared to other 9-month old babies…

On a completely different note, I took a cute video of Aidan spotting the red-haired girl (the Wendy's girl) while we were on the way to his Korean school. He is an absolute scaredy cat and he thinks that the Wendy's girl is scary because she is staring at him. He always screams when he sees her.

Month-by-month- Month 8

How can you possibly be 8 months already??? My little baby girl is growing up way too fast.

It was quite difficult for me to take pictures of you because you kept wanting to eat your booties, lick the chair and eat your bow on your dress. I can't seem to keep you still these days. Other than that I think you look quite pretty in your little, hot pink number.

Look how pretty you are getting.
Your hair has grown a lot from last time. It's still very patchy in places, but I think you look better
now. We might get your sides feathered down today when we go to the hair salon. 

I took a quick video of you while doing your photoshoot, but as you can see you were not being a good subject matter :-/

I couldn't resist taking pictures of you just wearing your pink stockings. You look so cute!

Look at all those delicious rolls.

Another video of you trying to crawl. I swear you did it right before I shot this video, but whenever I try to capture it you end up just rolling around everywhere!

So here's what's new:

- Your top, front tooth started coming out. The one on the right-hand side. I've tried taking photos of it, but you won't let me. 

- You started to crawl today! You've been crawling backgrounds and rolling everywhere a while back, but just today you crawled forward. 

- A few days ago you went from your belly position to a sitting position.

- You are still sick :-(

- It snowed today and yesterday was the first day of Spring :-(

Month-by-month- Month 7

I decided to move the rocking chair that I normally photograph you in for your Month-by-month shoots to Aidan's room since his room is light-filled during the day. It's such a pleasure doing these shoots because I love dressing you in clothes that you normally wouldn't wear during the day. You have so many nice clothes in your dresser, but it's just not that practical wearing them on a day-by-day basis. 

It was hard capturing a good photograph of you because you kept wanting to eat your shoes! You are so active now. You can now sit up on your own, but you sometimes topple over so I still have to watch you like a hawk. You are now an expert roller. You still can't crawl though… You've also begun to blabber (quite loudly). You stick your tongue out and start talking jibberish. It's quite cute :-)

Month-by-month- Month 6

How can my baby girl already be 6 months???

Boy, time sure does fly… Pretty soon I'll be going back to work and you in daycare :'-(

I know I keep saying this over and over again, but you are a dream

baby. You sleep well, you eat well (you are now eating rice cereal, applesauce and banana), you laugh (a lot), you hardly cry, you play well, the list goes on and on. Thank you for making my life so great Kendall. Mommy loves you more than life itself…

Who knew dressing a little girl could be so much fun?
Auntie Jess gave me a whole bunch of hand-me-downs yesterday. I went through it today and
saw the pink and white polka dot overall dress that I got Emma when she was a baby. I remember
thinking to myself when I was buying that dress that mothers with little girls were so lucky because
girl clothes are so much cuter than boy clothes. I immediately dressed you in that dress for your
6-month photoshoot.

Haha. I couldn't resist. After your photoshoot I was stripping you down to put more comfortable
clothes on you and seeing you in your little pink tights with nothing up top was just too cute
to pass up. You look like a little tadpole. Keke.

Your brother Aidan was home today. While the photoshoot was taking place he was looking
at all the books in your bookshelf. Then he found this pencil in one of your drawers and he's
trying to scare me with it. What a guy…
I tried to get him to sit in on a photo session, but he said he wasn't interested.

Now you can flip over onto your back and back on your belly easily.

Your hair (er, side burns?) are getting pretty long now. I don't know if I should trim that so it
doesn't look like a combover.

You are pretty active too. You like flailing your arms up and down.
Daddy and I are also doing core exercises with you daily so that you develop upper body strength.
I think it's helping.

I end with a video of Aidan performing (again) Psy's Gangnam Style. He is determined to memorize the lyrics so he keeps singing it over and over to himself… 

Month-by-month- Month 5

It's already 5 months??? Where does the time go? How can my baby be already 5 months old? It seems like yesterday when I gave birth to you. You are my sunshine girl and I'm forever grateful to God for blessing us with a wonderful baby girl. I love you. I will forever cherish you.

Month-by-month- Month 4

Happy 4-months Kendall! Can't believe how quickly time is flying. I'm really dreading when you hit the 6-month mark because that'll indicate that I'll be at the halfway mark of my mat leave. 

So what is new with you? You can hold up your head up quite a bit when you are on your tummy and you can now sit in your Bumbo. Your head support is still not at 100%, but I can keep you in the Bumbo for about half an hour. Later than that and you get really antsy and cranky. You have also lost a bit of weight from before. Your double-chin isn't quite as prominent. Your bald patch has gotten quite noticeable at the back and there are some parts of your hair that are really kinky. To the point that they have formed tight knots at the end. I've had to cut off the ends to get rid of that…

I decided to include a few outtakes from the photo shoot because the close-ups are pretty cute.

I'm trying to put you in nicer clothes for these shoots and although it is November the weather
has been pretty good. That's why I was able to put you in short sleeves today.

Month-by-month- Month 3

Today is your 3-month Kendall!

Even though you are just turned 3-months you were already wearing clothing that was 3-6 months and even 6-9 months. Yesterday your Vancouver grandmother bought a ton of clothes for you and your brother Aidan. She is visiting from Vancouver and she arrived on Thursday evening. You were wearing a lot of tight-fitting clothing so she wanted to buy you all new clothes. Here you are wearing a onesie that she bought you as well as my favourite accessory- your new bow pin!

I've been wanting to get you a hair pin for a while now because it makes you look a bit more
feminine. Since your hair is short you look like a boy dressed up in girl clothes when I put
you in dresses. This way you look a little more girl-like.

As usual your brother wanted to join in the photo session. He loves holding you.

BTW, today is mommy and daddy's 6-year wedding anniversary. I am embarrassed to say that I totally forgot. I guess having 2 rambunctious kids will do that to you. Daddy turned to me last night and said, "You know it's our wedding anniversary tomorrow?" and I was like, "Oh shoot!" Daddy went to the mall today in the morning to drop off your Vancouver grandma (she wanted to go shopping) and while he was there, he went into Michael Kors to buy mommy a special gift. He came home and told you to give the shopping bag to me. I was totally shocked and surprised. Yes, daddy and I have our ups and downs, but I'm so thankful that I have daddy and I'm forever thankful that he gave me the 2 most beautiful kids in the world. He is truly the best father to you and Kendall and I hope you guys grow up to realize that too.

Month-by-month- Month 2

Wow, it's amazing how quickly another month went by. Your skin is now starting to clear up and it's no longer as yellow as in the previous month. Your eyelashes are also more visible. I just hope your hair grows quicker. You seriously have a very noticeable receding hairline. Keke. Another thing I've started noticing is how you are starting to recognize me more. You break out into a smile when you see me looking at you. You don't do this to daddy as much. I guess it's because you spend the most time with me.

This whole month-by-month documentation is turning out to be quite fun. I wish I did it with Aidan.

Since your brother didn't go to daycare today (he's home Mondays and Fridays) I thought I
would include him in our photo session. He just loves to pose.
