This morning you ran into mommy's room after you woke up in the morning and stood by my side of the bed waiting for me to lift you into the bed. As soon as I did so you started gagging as if about to throw up. I immediately ran in our bathroom and held you against the sink. I wasn't too alarmed at first, but when daddy took you out in the morning to do a quick errand you threw up all over in the car. Daddy rushed home and I was shocked to see so much throw up in the car. I know it's gross to talk about it, but you were covered in vomit. Apparently, daddy had given you a bottle of milk for the ride and you threw up all of that and even more in the car. I hadn't told daddy about your throw-up accident in the morning so he thought you were totally fine. It was quite the morning/afternoon because daddy and I had to stay in to wash the car and take your car seat out. You had a speech therapy appointment in the afternoon so we had to make sure your car seat was cleaned up before the appointment. It was my first time cleaning up the car seat so I wasn't able to clean it completely. It still smelled like puke when I put it back in. Sigh.
I'm not sure what you ate, but I think you ate something funny. You weren't able to keep anything down the whole day. Mommy and daddy had to keep giving you water because everything else you threw up right away.
When we finally went to your speech therapy appointment you were not your 100% self. You didn't really want to do anything and you even threw up a couple of times while you were there. Luckily the therapist was more interested in me telling her what you were capable of doing at this stage in life. I wasn't too worried because you are very verbal these days. She said you were fine, but that you should be working on your adjectives and verbs. So instead of us saying, "Aidan, where's the dog?" we should now be asking you, "Aidan, show me the running dog" or "Show me the sad dog." I guess we were so worried back when you were one that you didn't have enough nouns in your vocabulary that we were continuing to teach you nouns, but the therapist was saying that in order for you to form sentences you needed verbs and adjectives. It was very helpful just seeing her to get tips on how to teach you to talk. You still form simple sentences, but it could be better.
I just hope that you feel better by tomorrow. Otherwise I'm worried that you won't be able to go to daycare on Monday. They won't take a sick toddler. We shall see.
