Guess what day it was today? Today was baby Emma's 1st birthday. I can't believe it's already been a year! It feels like yesterday when I went to the hospital to visit Emma when she was first born. It just goes to show you that kids grow up way to fast and you have to cherish every moment.

Auntie Jess set up a kids area where she had a couch facing the TV with a slideshow of photos of baby Emma. You sat on that couch almost the whole time watching the monitor. I think you thought your TV show would come on eventually.
Baby Emma slept the whole time! I hope this doesn't mean she doesn't sleep at night!

Pinata time! Uncle Wayne held up the Winnie the Pooh pinata and got all the kids (smallest to biggest) to line up to pull the string.

Auntie Sara had to move you over because you fell to the floor and started throwing a mini tantrum because you didn't want to participate.

Does that look like a baby that is tired? That was the picture I took at 10pm after a feeding. You had slept all day so I knew that it was going to be a loooooong night. Little did I know that it would be a nightmare of a night. You pooped every time I fed you and I fed you every hour. It was brutal. Then when I put you down you started crying so I had to start the whole cycle again- feed, change your diaper, put you down. It got to a point that I was so exasperated that I lmoved you to your crib in your room (while I lay on the floor beside your crib) and I let you cry until you fell asleep. However, you kept waking up crying. I was literally up from 1am to 4am. Finally daddy came in the room at 4am and held you until you fell asleep. He thinks that all I had to do was hold you, but he doesn't know that I was doing that earlier. I think all the crying got you so tired by that time that you slept pretty easily. I am so tired today. I feel like a walking zombie. If this is how it's going to be I don't know how I'm going to last…
I have noticed that you go through stages where you are attached to one thing for a period of time before you move onto another thing. Right now the flavour of the month is black teddy- the bear that you made at daycare earlier this week. You have been attached to that bear- holding it while you watch TV, taking it with you when you go potty and even sleeping with it. Here you are holding teddy while you are watching one of your shows- Special Agent Oso. You always laugh at Oso because he always does something silly and you crack up in laughter. Keke.
Kendall, you've grown so much! You have now graduated to size 1 diapers. That means you are now over 8lbs. You have been pooping so much that we flew right through the newborn diapers in a blink of an eye.
There's a few blogs that I follow and a couple of them had a month-by-month photo op that they did with their babies to document each stage. I decided it was a great idea to start doing it with you. I wish I had started when you first came home from the hospital, but it's better now than never, right?
I plan on doing these photo ops each month. I'm not sure until what age, but I guess that's something I'll decide later down on the road.

I put a new poster up last week that I printed at Walmart. The colours didn't print true to colour, but that's what you
get when you have no control of the printer calibration…
Remember how mommy signed up for all these summer programs for you for the month of July and August at daycare? Well, you didn't participate in many of them because you were either a) a party pooper or b) home sick with impetigo. However, today's program- Build a teddy was a huge hit with you. We got a form back in June asking what teddy our child wanted to build. We showed you the form and you were insistent on choosing the black bear.
When you came home from daycare you were holding your black bear so tight and you were so proud of your bear. I guess you stuffed the bear on your own so it was your own creation. You carried the bear all night and even slept with it.

Today was also the first day I put baby Kendall in the Baby Bjorn. It says that the baby must be 8lbs in order to put the baby in the Bjorn. I weighed Kendall and she is now 8lbs. She is so big now!
Today was mommy's 32nd birthday. I can't believe I'm 32… I still feel like I'm 22.
Anyways, I awoke this morning with you standing by mommy's bed wishing me a happy birthday. It was such a nice way to wake :-)
Daddy treated me to a great brunch at the Hilton hotel and it was so nice getting out as I've been cooped up indoors for quite a while.
Our whole family went out around 11:30am to have my birthday brunch.
It was a buffet-style brunch and this is my first course.
The restaurant was pretty fancy and you got a kick out of the waiter refilling your orange juice every time
you took a sip.

Afterwards we went back home and we all took a family nap as that's what we've been doing a lot lately. Daddy and I are especially tired because Kendall doesn't sleep at night!
In the evening I went to your Toronto grandparent's house to have dinner. Daddy went to play soccer, but we still had lots of fun without him.

younger. Auntie Jess left it at grandparent's house so that you can use it when you go there.
You play so well when you are at your grandparent's house. Here, you made all of us line up the deck chairs
in a straight row and you pretended you were the bus driver. You made us all sing "Wheels on the bus…"
