Brother sister love

It just melts mommy's heart when I see how much you love Kendall and her you.
We were just playing on your bed today and you just kissed Kendall without me telling you to do so. She's also crazy about you. She always tries to touch you. I hope you guys grow to still continue to love each other. That's my prayer.

Whole Foods and a whole lotta superheroes

Today was so sunny and nice. Although Spring officially began a few weeks ago its still been quite cold here. Because the whole family was so sick I didn't want to take you out when the weather was cold and crappy. All that time spent indoors made me absolutely wonkers so I decided that you and I would go out for some fresh air. What better way than to check out the new Whole Foods near us. I've been to the Whole Foods downtown, but I really wanted to check out the uptown location.

And here we are!

It was the first time I put you in the shopping buggy, but I thought you would be pretty happy since
you are pretty alert and active now. I knew you would be fascinated looking at your surroundings
and whatnot.
I literally got 5 strangers come up to me to say how cute you were. There was one girl in particular
that came running at us from another aisle just to fawn over you.
Afterwards we went back home and I took you and Rosco out for a walk in you converted stroller (to the seat setting). It was so nice!

When Aidan got home from daycare I got out the new markers and stamps that I bought for him at Ikea the other day.

Here's a page Aidan and I did together with all the stamps he has now.

Pretty stamps that I got Aidan at Ikea. I also got the plastic containers to store all the markers,
crayons and stamps.

Here are the markers.

Aidan made me draw his favourite superheroes- Batman and Spiderman.

Then he made me draw Superman. Not my best…

Here's Aidan's favourite drawing that I did- Optimus Prime :-)

Special treat

Mommy tried out the new bib I picked up from Ikea for you today. I have other traditional looking bibs, but you make such a mess whenever I get you to eat on your own that I picked up one that looked like an actual top. The "bib" has a sleeve and a pocket at the bottom (that catches spilled foods) so I couldn't pass up on it. And guess what? It worked!

After dinner I decided that I wanted to take you out to get frozen yogurt at Yogurty's. I didn't go out today during the day with Kendall because it was so cold and windy. It was great because you and I had our little mommy-son bonding time and by the time we got home it was your bedtime. It was a great way to end off the evening.

You were so fascinated with all the drawings on the walls. I showed you how to get the frozen
yogurt and you were just in awe. I love taking you now because it is so fun. I don't have to lug
around a diaper bag since you are pretty much potty trained and now you seem to understand
everything that is going around you.

Our frozen yogurt that we shared together. You loved it so much that you wanted more.
When I wasn't looking you grabbed the spoon and got your own scoop of frozen yogurt. Sneeky boy!

Aidan's favourite place in the whole entire world…

…no it's not Disney World or Toys R Us… it's… IKEA!

Auntie Jessica called me earlier today saying she wanted to visit. She hadn't seen you and Kendall in a while so she wanted to come over. We decided that once you and daddy came home from daycare/work, Auntie Jess and I would take you to IKEA- your absolute, most favourite place in the whole wide world! And boy, were you excited. Daddy and Kendall stayed home as it was too cold for Kendall and daddy was tired from working.

We didn't really have anything to buy (although I did buy you a few things), but we just wanted to get out of the house. The weather's been pretty crappy even though it is supposed to be Spring so I haven't really gone out that much.

We had a great time at IKEA. You really seem to like Auntie Jessica and Emma so we had a blast racing in our shopping carts, enjoying ice cream and just hanging out together :-D

4 teeth and counting…

Not the greatest picture, but it took me a while to get a picture of your top 2 teeth. I've been wanting to take a photo of it ever since I saw your top right teeth coming out a few weeks ago, but you are so active now that I can't get you to open your mouth without you making a huge fuss.

See the video below to see what I mean about you not staying still. I constantly have to watch you because you'll go from one end of the room to another. You are now an expert crawler, sitter and roller.

I've stood up and I can't come down…

Even though I lowered your crib to the 2nd lowest setting you are still standing up in your crib and you start crying because you can't come back down. I was hoping that lowering the crib would prevent you from standing up, but nope, it hasn't hindered you. This sucks because when I put you down for nap time you don't sleep right away like you used to. You end up going to a sitting position, then grabbing the rails and standing up. You then start gnawing at the wood on the crib with your teeth and then after a while you start getting restless because you can't come back down to a sitting position. Eventually you end up crying hysterically.

What happened to my dream baby that fell asleep right away?? You used to cry for about 2 seconds and then sucked on your left thumb, which consoled you back to sleep.

The bad thing is that this happens in the middle of the night now. I am awakened at least once because you wake up and get up to a standing position. This has made me really annoyed and tired.

I was able to take a video of you today doing just that- standing and crying. You saw me while I was filming that's why you were crying more :-(

Tomorrow, I'm going to have to lower your crib to the lowest position. I don't think it'll stop you from standing up, but here's to hoping…
