Sunday funday

Daddy asked me if I was going to my parents house in the afternoon as he had soccer at 5pm. You (Aidan) and I used to go there almost every Sunday before Kendall was born as I didn't want to be home alone and you always have loads of fun there. So even though it's harder going with Kendall (as I have way more stuff to bring) I like going there. Plus, Auntie Jess is usually there with baby Emma as Uncle Wayne has basketball every Sunday night. Today was especially good because Auntie Sara was there too with Uncle Dan so it was a full house! 

You played so well there. I think you can sense that this is your family and that they love you. You are usually shy at the beginning whenever you meet other kids and adults, but you are so outgoing there. You also love Emma. There was one time when baby Emma was playing with her mom, Auntie Jess' wallet. Emma was taking out all the cards and putting it on the floor. You were walking by and gasped in horror and said, "Look!" to Auntie Jessica. I guess you thought that what Emma was doing was totally unacceptable. Haha. I guess that is your inner daddy coming out as he is a total neat freak. You started grabbing the cards that were on the floor and forming a neat pile and putting it back in Auntie Jess' wallet. At one point Emma grabbed a card that was in your hand and I thought you were going to hit her (as you always do that to other kids that you play with), but you didn't react at all. I think you really like her. You even gave her a juicy kiss.

Lazy Sunday

We didn't go to church today. We were planning to. This would be the first Sunday we would be going to church after you were born, but we didn't make it. Why? It's because you were up all night and finally slept around 3:30am. I was so exhausted and cranky from lack of sleep that daddy was scared to be around me. 

Because you slept so late you did a lot of sleeping during the day. I hope this doesn't mean you won't sleep again tonight… If that happens I will totally lose it as tomorrow Aidan is home.

I end off with a photo of you and daddy. Daddy thought you looked so cute todya that he told me to take a picture of you together. You guys look like twins!

First Friday at home

Today was the start of your (Aidan's) first Friday being home with Mommy. We are taking you out of daycare on Mondays and Fridays from now on to save a little bit of money. I was nervous because having 2 kids under the age of 4 is not easy. Plus, it doesn't help that you constantly have tantrums and Kendall cries every time I put her down. I'm trying to organize a lot more play dates with my friends so that it makes it a lot less repetitive for everyone. Today, my friend Jenn came over with her 2-year old son, Nate. You have played with him before and you always play so well together. I even gave you a good notice leading up to today to make sure you knew that Nate was coming over to play with you. You seemed really excited and even promised me that you were going to share all your toys with him. However, as soon as he came you started acting all shy and even hid in the corner. Nate is so friendly so he started looking for you. You then went to a corner in the kitchen and started pouting. I don't know why you behave this way. I don't like it one bit! Nate doesn't even go to daycare and yet he plays so well with other kids. You, on the other hand, see kids your age every day and yet you still act anti-social and even bully them. I had to keep coaxing you to go to Nate. We finally went down to the basement where your playroom is and after 15 minutes you started playing with Nate. However, I had to stop you a few times from throwing your toys at Nate's face. You guys were doing it all in good fun, but I didn't want Nate to get hurt. Nate was just laughing while you were chucking your plastic food toys at him. 

All in all you guys played really well together, but it took you a while to warm up to him. I know with some kids you don't gel well and you end up pushing them. 

Afterwards your Toronto grandparents came over and we decided to take them out to dinner as it is your Toronto grandpa's birthday on September 12. We went to an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant that your Toronto grandparents recommended. 

This is a face I see a lot these days. It's the cranky face. You act this way even when you
are excited for something. I think you are just shy being at unfamiliar places and even around
unfamiliar people and this is your way of expressing yourself.

Kendall was just a dream again sleeping in her car seat the whole time we were at the
restaurant. I remember you being this way when you were younger. What happened???

Updates to gallery wall

I scratched one of the items on my never-ending to-list- adding photos of Kendall throughout our house. I don't have too many pictures of Kendall as she is still only 6-weeks old, but I tried adding whatever pictures I do have around the house. I'm going to be taking more photos of her when her skin gets a little better (she's covered in baby acne right now :-S) and when she can hold her head up on her own.

Cherish in the little moments

When I see you like this, this is when I want you to stay like this forever. You've grown so much in a blink of an eye that I get sad when I think how fleeting time is. Sleep tight my little precious. Sleep tight.

Kendall's doctor's appointment

Today I went to Dr Greenberg's office to get you checked out. Your family doctor was concerned about your jaundice. However, everything was fine. Dr Greenberg said that your jaundice was very minor and said that there is something in the mother's breast milk that might make a baby a little jaundiced. He said that it should go away after 4 months and that we have nothing to worry about. He also said that your skin condition was baby acne and that, again, it should go away on its own. Also, your stork bite would fade after 1 year. 

Since this was a pediatrician's office there were tons of kids/babies here and most of them
were crying because they had gotten their shots. It was pretty funny.

You are now 10.2lbs. Wow! Your height is 52cm and head circumference is around 37.3cm.
According to the doctor you are growing well and is right around the 25 percentile in height.

Chill day

Yesterday took a toll on our family so today- Labour Day- we decided to take it easy and just chill at home. We all slept in and just hung around the house. I took some photos of Kendall after her bath because she looked so cute in her little monkey towel.

Since it is now September, Aidan will be going to daycare 3 days a week and staying home on Mondays and Fridays. It will be quite busy for mommy from now on…
