Belated birthday pics

Dear Aidan,

Here you are at Steer Inn Burgers when we were there to eat dinner after daddy and mommy got our hair cut at Jenny Hair Salon. You are much better today than last night. Your fever went down and you looked more awake than yesterday. I'm so happy that you are feeling better. I was worried about you all day today.

On another note, I finally got the disk from Will, JP's dad, of your birthday pics that he took. He's really into photography and he took pictures of your birthday as a favour to us. I wish he came right when the party started so he could have taken photos of the table decor and all that good stuff, but what can you do...

Sunday night fever

Dear Aidan,

You are extremely sick right now. You now have a fever of 38.9 degrees. We had to give you baby Tylenol as well as give you a sponge bath and lots of fluid. I just put you down right now and your fever went down a bit. We actually had to put you in the playpen downstairs with a very light onesie so that you can stay cool during the night. You normally don't sweat that much, but today your hair was soaked with sweat. I'm so worried about you. I need you to get better.





On a happier note, our friends Jenn and Ed had their baby son today! His name is Nathan Jayden Lee. He was born at 6:15am today. Can't wait to see the little bundle of joy!

Dear Aidan,

My cousin, Mike and his family recently moved near our area. We dropped by today to say hi and see their new place. Naomi took a liking to you right away because she kept hugging you and following you around. Ethan was a bit annoyed at you because you kept taking all his car toys and putting it in your mouth.

If you look closely at the photos you will notice something VERY funny. Do you see how you and Nay Nay (Naomi) are sharing the same milk bottle? That's actually your bottle, but she grabbed it when you put it down and started drinking from it! It was pretty hilarious.

30 years ago today...

Dear Aidan,

Today is mommy's birthday. And no, that is not a picture of mommy as a newborn. That is you! Thanks for making 2010 a memorable year for mommy. Although I've been on this earth for 30 years I still feel so young. I can't believe how quickly time flew. Pretty soon you will be going to school and making friends. There's one thing I learned while growing up. It's to cherish the time you have in the present. I remember every little detail growing up as a kid. I want you to be like that too. I want you to grow up and remember that you had a happy childhood with lots of cherished memories. I want to make that a reality for you.

Oh, daddy wants me to fess up and say he made it up to me today for the past couple of days. He bought mommy a special birthday present. I didn't get a card though...

Joo Se Yo!

Dear Aidan,

'Joo se yo' means 'please give it to me' in Korean. I've been trying to teach you the meaning of that by getting you to give me the stuff you are holding in your hands. You've been understanding what it means for a while now, but today I had the opportunity to catch you doing it in camera. I even recorded a video of you doing it (so cute!), but I can only upload 2 videos a month in Flickr and that's the best quality I get. So I'm going to wait until September to upload it.






Tomorrow is mommy's birthday. I'm turning the big 3-0! My work gave me the day off so I'll be dropping you off in the morning at daycare and doing a special me day. I'll be going to the spa and going to a yoga class. That'll be a nice treat for myself.

Dear Aidan,

Remember back in March when I commented about wanting a Boon Grass Countertop Drying Rack? Well, today I got it! I'm so happy because it was sold out everywhere. You may be wondering why it was such an important purchase. Well, besides being so beautiful to look at, it had been bugging me that I was putting your washed dishes/bottles/cutlery in the same dish rack as our stuff. Sometimes our dish rack got so jam packed with stuff that it was a struggle getting your stuff from there. Also, we had the standard metal dish rack with the holes between it and your bottles and spoons always fell through. I was worried that once it fell through and touched the sink it would contaminate your stuff. Anyways, I'm happy to say that it is now its own entity.

You are still extremely sick. We took you out during the morning to do errands and you were so dazed. Here you are sleeping in the car. You actually passed out. You were so exhausted this weekend. Poor baby. Once we came home I made sure to put you to sleep so that you could get the much needed rest you deserved. I hope you feel better tomorrow...
