Dear Aidan,
Today, daddy and I booked the place that we will be having your birthday party in. The restaurant is called Kazan. Our first choice, Sariwon, was booked so we were in a panic mode to find an alternative place. It's customary in Korean tradition to hold a big party for a baby's 1 year old birthday. Most Koreans have it in the party rooms at Korean restaurants, but unfortunately not a lot of Korean restaurants in Toronto have party rooms. It was funny because daddy had wanted to take a few of our friends out for dinner at Kazan today because they had treated us to dinner a while back so I checked to see if they happened to have a party room. Lucky for us they did and it is actually pretty nice! We had booked July 17 as the party date, but we found out tonight that somebody from our church was having their wedding on that day. Normally it wouldn't matter, but so many of our friends are going to that wedding. So we had to change the date to 1 week earlier to July 10. Koreans don't like it if you have the party after the birthday has passed. It's bad luck so they say.
Anyways, here are you and Asher eating rice rusks while we were at the restaurant. It was so cute because daddy put your high chairs facing each other so it looked like you guys were having a face-off of who could eat their rice rusks faster.
BTW, I have the PERFECT idea for your birthday party. I'm in the midst of thinking about the decoration, loot bags, cake design, etc. etc. I'm actually getting pretty excited about organizing your birthday party. ^_^
