I arranged a playdate with my friend, Jen and her son Nate. Nate is 1 year younger than you, but he's old enough that he can walk and talk so I don't think the 1 year age difference made a difference. We had a playdate a few weeks ago, but you were super shy at the beginning. This time around you were so outgoing and you guys had the time of your lives. You were having so much fun copying what each other were doing. Whatever you did Nate would follow and vice versa. You guys even held hands and gave each other massages. Haha.
Here's a video of you singing a song that I think you learned at daycare. The lyrics are simple- "Row the boat, crocodile, swing your teeth." Nate was just following whatever you were doing. Keke.
After lunch we decided to go to the park and play. At the beginning, the park was empty so you guys were the only ones using the playground. However, around 3:30pm school let out so a whole bunch of kindergarten kids came and started playing in the playground. I know last time you didn't like it when kids started playing with stuff that you were playing with so I was watching you like a hawk to make sure you didn't push anybody. You were actually just watching the kids at first. Then you ran down the playground ramp to where Nate was standing and you shouted to him, "Nate, let's go fight!" To my horror I saw the two of you running to where the kindergarten kids were at the top of the slide ready to fight them. Jen and I ran over to you guys and I had to stop you from doing anything. I can't believe you did that! I know it's bad, but I couldn't stop laughing inside. What a rascal you are. Then a whole bunch of nanny's came to the playground with baby strollers. One was parked by the swings, but it was empty. When you walked by you made a pushing gesture and shouted, "Push!" Jen and I both saw that and I was flabbergasted, but Jen said it was awesome. What am I going to do with you!
You were going down the big slide. Nate was too scared to go down this slide. |
You and Nate on the swings. You guys were pretty tired from all the playing that you guys sort of started dozing off, but then you got a surge of energy and it was back to playtime. |
I was trying to capture a good photo of you two on the slide, but every time I was ready to capture a shot one of you would go down the slide. This was the best photo I could get of the two of you. |
See what I mean?! |
You were so happy having a friend to play with. This is when I want to have another son… |
Because I had Kendall on the Bjorn I wasn't able to monitor you as closely playing. However, I was quite surprised how adventurous you were in the playground. Normally I would hold your hand, but this time around you were climbing the ladders with no help at all. I guess this is how you play at daycare. My big boy is all grown up!
