Mommy is so sorry!

Dear Aidan,

Today was a stressful day for mommy and daddy.
Everyone at church commented about your skin (about how red and scabby it was) and our friend Erica was telling us ways how she treated her daughter when she had eczema. We decided to get some products that she had recommended.
Immediately after church we went to Pharma Plus to pick up oilatum, a bath oil that would help your skin retain moisture. When I asked the pharmacist about the product and how I could use it she saw your skin. She actually gasped. She said that you have severe eczema and that we should go to our pediatrician right away. Since today was Sunday she recommended a walk-in clinic not too far away that was open. We rushed to the clinic. We had to wait 2 hours to see the doctor, but we had to do it. The doctor said it was pretty bad too and gave us a prescription for hydrocortisone cream. He told us to see our pediatrician ASAP so that they could do a better assessment. He thought you might have atopic dermatitis. I'm going to be making an appointment first thing tomorrow. Daddy was not very happy with me because he had always thought that you had a severe case of eczema, but I didn't believe him. I thought that we should give the creams that we had purchased recently some time to work before we came up with any conclusion. Now I feel terrible and guilty for not tackling this sooner. It was a super long day for us and you were especially tired. I just put you to bed now. Mommy is sorry...
