Aidan says hi

Dear Aidan,

You and I made a video for your paternal grandparents yesterday. I recently found out that I could record videos through my computer. They are going to Hawaii tomorrow for a much-needed vacation. They just retired back in October.

Tonight we will be eating dduk gook at your maternal grandparents house. I can't believe 2009 is coming to an end. It went by really quickly. Maybe mommy will be writing a resolution list for 2010.

Too small for the high chair?

Dear Aidan,

I tried to see if you are too small to sit on the high chair today. It seems like you were ok in it, but I'm still going to wait until you are about 6 months. You don't look very happy though.

Let's do the 'head shake'

Dear Aidan,

Sorry for the lack of posts, but daddy has had a few days off for the Christmas holidays so I haven't had much time to post anything.
You've been quite the cutie lately. You've started copying some of the things that we do. There's this thing that you do when you are tired. It's called the 'head shake'. I named it that. Basically you start shaking your head back and forth when you are tired. Daddy and I always make fun of you by doing that when you are looking at us. Then yesterday, while you were sitting on daddy's stomach, you started copying daddy doing the 'head shake'. It was pretty hilarious. I actually got it on tape. See for yourself.

5 things

Dear Aidan,

Daddy is trying to put you to sleep right now. I've been having a tough time these days putting you to sleep. You fall asleep after you get breastfed, but once I put you in your crib you wake up and start rolling around like crazy. I have a feeling daddy won't be successful putting you to sleep, but we'll see.

Anyways, here are 5 things that happened today:

   We went to church today.

Asher grabbed your arm at church and put your hand in his mouth. I think he thought you were a toy.

You sat for the first time in a high chair at church. You were doing ok in it until you put your head back and hit the back of the chair. Ouch.

You barfed on daddy today. It was the second day you did that.

Mommy and daddy were watching Iris for a few days now. I think daddy was really into it because he pretended he was agent Sa Woo and tried to shoot Sophie in the head as a joke. You weren't impressed.

Merry Christmas!

Dear Aidan,

Today was your baptism. You will probably be too young to remember this day, but it was a special day for us. Daddy read a baptism prayer on your behalf. Here is a verse that we want you to take with you when you get older:

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. —Psalm 139:13-16

I'm posting some pictures of your special day.

Mommy is just about to wake you up to get you ready for the big day.

You are still sleeping in your crib at 9:20am. Blessed child...

You looked so grumpalicious when mommy woke you up from your deep slumber.

Uh oh. Looks like somebody fell asleep again!

Aidan: Mommy, don't bother me! I need my beauty sleep!

You are really awake now and ready to rumble.

Mommy picked out an outfit for your baptism. The theme is all white (except for the shoes).

Daddy is looking pretty spiffy himself in his suit and tie. He practiced all night on his speech for your special day. Daddy hates public speaking.

You are all bundled-up in your jacket and poor boy hat.

Helen, Pastor Jason's wife, is holding Asher and grandma is holding you. Asher is also getting baptized today.

Grandma was so proud of you. Can you tell it on her face?

You, on the other hand, looked STUNNED.

Asher's mom, YJ, is proudly holding Asher. He looked very concerned...

Grandma was trying to make you dance. You looked bored. So did grandpa.

Aidan: Why is grandma torturing me???

Wow Aidan. That's a long yawn.

You giving a shout-out to all the peeps out in the world.

Look how nice your skin is now. L*O*V*E!!

Your certificate of baptism.

Mommy and you. Aidan, can you stop pulling mommy's hair?! She is bald as it is...

One of the very few photos of you and me together. Try to look happy.

You don't seem very happy.

Ok, maybe now you do...

The program of the service. Look, there's your name under infant baptism.

Daddy holding you right before we went up to get the infant baptism.

Daddy reading his prayer. He did a great job.

Here's a photo of YJ, Andy (holding Asher), mommy, and daddy (holding you) making a vow to raise you as Christian parents.

I think this was when Asher was getting water poured over his head.

Here's your look of surprise when you saw Asher getting all wet. It's your turn next!

Pastor Jason was reading off his paper and you were so interested in what he was reading.

Pastor Jason didn't hold back when he was pouring water over your head. He poured quite a large amount. Luckily you didn't flinch one bit.

You looked cool as a cucumber throughout the whole baptism. The congregation laughed at how calm you were.

You and Asher after the baptism. You guys were both wet. It was like a wet T-Shirt contest! Haha.

Here's you looking at Asher.

Both of you seemed very stunned.

You on the big screen.

You were pooped after and slept like a baby in the car.

5 things

Dear Aidan,

Here are 5 things that happened today:

You woke up at 6:30am when daddy left for work. You cried so much that mommy had to take you out of your crib and sleep with you in my bed. We woke up again at 10:30am.

Mommy baked for 6 hours to make cookie packages for Dennis' coworkers as Christmas gifts.

You took 2 naps during the day.

Mommy, daddy and you went to Toys R Us when daddy came home from work. You didn't get anything :-(

Mommy and daddy went to Cho Sun Ok (mommy's favourite naeng myung restaurant) after Toys R Us to eat dinner. You were a nightmare at the restaurant. People stopped eating to stare at us. It looks like now we can't take you out anywhere...
