So long, farewell…

I took this photo and video of you right before I woke you up to take you to daycare.

Today was a very sad day. Today was the day your Vancouver grandparents left for Vancouver. Their flight was at 11am so daddy and I decided that I would drop you off at daycare in the morning (around 8:10am) and then drive your grandparents to the airport around 8:50am. I think you knew that they were leaving because when I was strapping you in the car to take you to daycare you kept shouting, "Bye! Bye! Bye!" while your grandparents looked on. Then you sang the lyrics to the song, "Joo yea bo yuh, bo yuh, neung nyung ee dda ga…" (a Christian song your grandmother taught you while she was here) while doing the body motion. The song usually ends with the raising of the hands and shouting, "Amen!" but being the rascal that you are you always say, "Surprise!" I guess raising the hands makes you think of surprising somebody. But today you ended with saying, "Amen!" I guess you knew something was up. I looked up at your grandma and she had tears in her eyes. She quickly went inside so that you wouldn't see her tears. It was very sad…
Then when I dropped you off at daycare you were clinging onto me saying you didn't want me to go and then you started crying hysterically. It was so hard to just leave you there.
When I got home your grandma gave me several coins for me to give to you so that when you got home you could put it in your piggy bank. You see, we started a tradition of getting you to put money in your piggy bank whenever you peed/pooed in the potty. You keep saying you are saving up to buy daddy a jacket so your grandma wanted to contribute to that fund.

When I finally dropped them off at the airport with Kendall they were both very depressed and your grandma got really teary-eyed. I hugged them both goodbye and reassured them that we would see each other soon. Having in-laws living so far away made me realize that you can't take anyone for granted. Whenever they are here they want to savour in every precious moment they have with you and Kendall. They totally spoil you guys and it makes me sad that they are missing out in seeing you guys grow…

Here's a video of you after I picked you up from daycare. You're also performing the Korean Christian song that your grandma taught you that I mentioned earlier.
