Daddy and I were finally able to get you the Leap Frog LeapPad Explorer today. Daddy's been eyeing it ever since he saw a commercial for it on TV. It's basically a tablet for kids and it got excellent reviews online and it won the Platinum Best Toy Awards by Oppenheim Toy Portfolio. He didn't get it a few weeks ago when he saw it at Toys R Us, but now that it's nearing Christmas time the LeapPad was almost impossible to find. Just this past Wednesday, mommy went to 2 stores and they were sold out. I even called several others, but it was the same story. I really didn't think we would be able to get it anytime soon, but luckily we checked by a Toys R Us on our way home from church and they had it. Daddy saw a group of parents by the model that was out and he quickly grabbed whatever box that he saw on the display before it got snatched by someone else. I always heard stories (before I had you) of parents going over and beyond to grab the hit toy of the year around Christmas time and I never understood it, but I do now.
