Mommy & Aidan day

Now that you are older, it's much easier taking you out with me. I don't need to pack food, diapers, wipes and all the stuff you have to bring when you have a baby. Plus, it's more fun. I can take you to places and you actually understand where I'm taking you.

Today, I took you out with me to return your library books that we had borrowed. It's becoming out little tradition- borrowing books, reading them before your bedtime and then returning them for new books. After the library, we went to eat Pho because I was craving it. You also like noodles too. I had called Auntie Jessica to see if they wanted to join us for dinner, but she didn't pick up. However, she called when we were almost finished eating and invited us over to her house. You love going to Emma's house so you were so happy when I told you we were going there.

Emma got a new swing/slide playground set from her paternal grandparents for her birthday
so you guys played outside for quite a bit.

You loved her playground set so much!

Look how cute you guys are.

It was a hot day and the sun was especially bright. I commented how this area looked like
heaven and Auntie Jessica said she said the same thing to Wayne the other day! We always
say the same things. I guess it's a twin thing.
Because it was so nice out, we decided to go to Canada's Wonderland for a little bit. It was such a blast going with Emma. You really enjoyed it.

Getting ready for kindergarten

Mommy's been running around like a headless chicken getting you ready for kindergarten. I had to get a whole bunch of school supplies (see above) that you have bring to school as well as get the whole daycare transition in order. Yesterday I went shopping at Walmart to shop for lunch stuff that I have to start packing for you. My boy is all grown up!

I went out earlier today to pick up an extra epipen for you (your new daycare needs 1 and your
school needs 2!). While I was out I guess you were not behaving. Daddy was so angry and
you were a crying mess. I took this photo of you after I calmed you down and put you
down for nap time. Yes, you can be a total nightmare when you are bad, but when you sleeping
like this it makes my heart hurt that we were angry with you. I know daddy feels the same way.
Please behave, my little monster!

New chapter

Today was the last day at your current daycare. Since you are starting junior kindergarten next week, we are switching you to the daycare that is in your public school. You had a hard time at daycare, but it was still sad leaving all the teachers/classmates you've grown to know and hopefully love. I actually picked you up from daycare today because I worked from home. I picked you up from your class first, then Kendall. I told Kendall's teachers (your former teachers) that it was your last day, they were amazed how quickly you had grown. They still remember you as a tiny 1-year old.

Your Senior Preschool teachers, Antonella and Rebecca, wrote a sweet card for you and put it in your cubby when I picked you up. I hope that you will adjust well to your new daycare and school. You have a hard time when we put you in an unfamiliar situation…

Sunday fun-day

What a long day we had. Daddy couldn't go to church today because his right ankle had swollen to the size of a 9-month pregnant woman's foot. And it was also black and blue. He had sprained his ankle at the soccer tournament yesterday. Him and his soccer… Ugh!
Anyways, he had to stay home to rest his foot so I took you to church in the morning while Kendall stayed home with daddy. You wore your new sunnies I bought you this week. Don't you look so handsome? It's a little big for you, but I love how these look on you.

In the evening we went over to your Toronto grandparents' house for dinner.

When we got to your grandparents' house I took some photos of you playing in their front yard.

What a little rascal you are.

Such a cutie pie.

This is when I love you the most- when you're happy and playful.

Your cousin, Emma, was there too so you guys played while watching TV.

Emma always goes in front of this french door and lurks!

Auntie Sara and Auntie Jessica was there too.

Emma walking in flip flops inside the house. Better take it off before egg woman (grandma) sees you!

Caught in the act.

Egg woman… er… grandma making Sam Gae Tang.

The yummy deliciousness of Sam Gae Tang.

Your Toronto grandpa playing with his Samsung tablet we (Auntie Sara, Auntie Jessica and mommy)
got him for his birthday.

I guess you learned this Korean song during your time at Korean school. I wasn't sure what the
song was called, but your Toronto grandpa was able to find it on YouTube.

You were also watching one of your favourite cartoon shows- The Octonauts. While we were watching
your grandma said how this green character looked like Kendall.

However, you had assigned Kendall to this character- Peso (the penguin). You declared yourself
as the captain- Barnacles (the polar bear), mommy as Kwasii (the cat) and I don't know if you
assigned daddy as anything…

The Octonauts crew.

Look at the finished Sam Gae Tang. Doesn't it look yummy?? It was just as tasty as it looked.
You, even as a picky eater, gulped this down.

I took this super cute picture of you and Emma when she came back to our house to play.
You really love Emma and so does she. This makes me sooooo happy.

Woes of a working mother

Ever since mommy started work (Aug 12), it's been go, go, go. I'm not even sure how I'm functioning because I'm so tired. I guess I'm just running on adrenaline.

Today was a hard day. I left work close to 9pm so I didn't make it home in time to see you and Aidan. This is one of those days when I want to quit work because it's not worth not seeing you guys. It's crazy how when I was on mat leave I saw you guys for almost 24 hours and now I'm lucky if I spend an hour with you the whole day.

The sun was setting when I was going home.

Kendall asleep. Daddy took this photo for me. This makes me hurt inside…

Like my new sunnies?

You lost your Ray-Ban-style Wayfarer's last Saturday at the library. You have really sensitive eyes so I picked up a pair of aviators for you while I was getting Emma's birthday present today. Don't they look so cool on you? It is a little big, but I love how cool it makes you look- just like Tom Cruise in Top Gun.

I spoke too soon. As soon as I asked you to pose, you started going all goofy on me. So much for
Mr Cool…

Does it get any easier?

The answer is no.
For some reason you seem so much smaller than Aidan when he first started daycare. I know you adjusted waaaaaaay better than him and that makes me feel a bit better, but I still hurt inside that you are at daycare all by yourself for the whole day. You are the first one there and one of the last to get picked up :-(

Such a cutie pie in the mornings. I love you so much!!!

You and your brother in the car getting ready to go to daycare.

Bye~

Mother/son day

I love spending time with you and having quality time together. Now that we have discovered our local library we can start our own tradition of going together and that being "our thing". Today, I let you play on the computer and you really enjoyed that.

So excited to be going again. Too bad you lost those sunglasses… You were so excited grabbing
books everywhere that I think you left your sunglasses somewhere and somebody took it.
We checked all the places that we went in the library and there were no signs of your sunglasses.

Aidan: "Mommy, can we get this book?"

Too bad it was a picture book…

Playing games on the computer.

It took some practice for you to get used to the mouse.

But once you got the hang of it, you were hooked. The only thing that made you want to leave
the library was that mommy was taking you to the movies. We watched Planes.

Always eating a popcorn while watching a movie.
