And so, this is the end…

This is a picture taken of you last year on your 1st birthday with your Vancouver grandma.
The reason that I haven't been posting many posts up lately was because your Vancouver grandparents were here to visit for almost a month. Tomorrow your grandma leaves for Vancouver. Your grandpa left last Saturday. It's been a very glum evening as your grandma's starting to shed tears. She loves you sooooooooooo much and I can truly tell that her heart is breaking. When I try to put myself in her shoes I can begin to understand how she is feeling inside.

It's even worse because you were feeling a little under the weather and a bit lethargic. She is worried sick about you and to know that she has to leave tomorrow morning is just gut wrenching for her. I wrote a thank you card for her just thanking her for everything and not to be sad, but when I gave it to her she started crying. I'm so sad inside too. I know I complain to daddy about how annoying his parents are sometimes, but they truly are so good to me and soooooooo good to you. Til next time.

Lloyd Christmas Part 2

I'm so mad! Daddy took you to the hair salon and look what they did to you!

BTW, you also had your first dentist appointment today and apparently you will have to get braces in the future. You teeth are overcrowded they say. Double whammy!

Good morning...

I finally got my camera back from the shop! It's been a little over a month since I dropped it off to get it repaired.
I was really starting to get annoyed because when I dropped it off they said it would take 2 weeks max. I've been missing taking cute moments of you.
Well, now that I have my camera back what better way than to share a cute moment of you in the morning when you came into our bed. You are usually in such a good mood in the mornings and very talkative.

Mirror mirror on the wall...

One of my favourite things about weekends/long weekends are when I get to let you sleep in. I always feel so bad in the weekdays when we have to wake you up at 6:30am to get you ready for daycare. Usually you are fine considering how early you have to wake up, but still...
When you sleep in and wake up on your own it's the cutest thing. You usually stay in your bed and start talking gibberish. Sometimes you'll be arranging all your toys in a row in your bed and other times you'll be pointing to all the items in your room and reciting what their names are. After a while you race into mommy and daddy's room and depending who's still in bed you'll come over to one side and say, "Hi mommy/hi daddy" and wave your little hand. Today, you rushed into our room right away and said hi to me. Then you started looking at our wall mirror and started entertaining your self.

You kept walking forward and backward from the mirror, almost strutting. You didn't know it, but
I was watching every minute of it and taking photos. Keke.

You started backing your a$$ up to the mirror.

You're so vain! Look at that big smile on your face while looking at your reflection.

Now you got down to a sitting position...

... and almost started breakdancing.

What an entertainer you are.

My only problem with you right now is putting you to sleep. You totally freak out when it's time for naptime/bedtime. Daddy tried for an hour at noon, but he got frustrated and asked me to try. I have no patience like daddy so I laid down the law. You were calling out for daddy and cried so much that you almost threw up. I don't know if I already mentioned this, but I have a mem meh stick (translates to hitting stick in English) that I use to spank you. Let's just say you got spanked pretty badly. Eventually you fell asleep, but not without a fight. Daddy keeps telling me to go easier on you, but knowing daddy you'll be a spoiled kid if he has it his way! I want you to know that I'm not your friend, but I'm your mom. I know you don't like me that much, but I'm ok with that. It hurts when you call out daddy instead of me when you're upset and how you always look for daddy even when I'm in the room. However, you will know I'm doing this out of love.

A day in the life...

We missed church this morning. Mommy was sleeping in your room last night because you kept waking up and so I was so exhausted when my alarm clock rang. I just turned it off to get another 5 minutes of sleep, but I ended up waking up at 9:30am. Daddy never wakes himself up unless it's me waking (or forcing) him to get up on Sunday to go to church. He again didn't wake up. Sigh.

Well, we decided to head to Ikea in the morning to have their $1 breakfast. Honestly, that place is a favourite among young parents. It's so cheap and family-friendly. The bad news was that since kids go back to school on Tuesday it was PACKED. The line-up for the breakfast was the longest that I've seen in my life and they ran out of everything- ketchup, cream and sugar for coffee, syrup. It was not good. Luckily you didn't mind. You ate almost half of mommy's plate. I was still hungry... Double sigh.

Yummy yummy pancakes.

Nom nom nom.

"More please!" as you say to me every time you finish eating something.

Afterwards, daddy and I went to a mall nearby our house to just window shop. We were trying to get you to walk, but you weren't having any of it. You got down on a kimchi squat and just stayed there.

The classic Kimchi squat.
According to the Urban Dictionary, a kimchi squat is:

1. Similar to the asian squat but kimchi refers to Koreans because in most cases,
Koreans are the only people who can pull it off comfortably and naturally. At times a Chinese or
other asian might be able to do it, but never has one seen a black or Mexican do it like Koreans.
They have their own squats.

2. What happens when you give a Korean a cigg and make them wait with no chairs or see
Koreans loitering
"Get up out of your kimchi squat foo we gotta go!"

The girl by the kiosk was laughing at you. Way to go Aidan.
Daddy had soccer in the afternoon so mommy and you went over to your Toronto grandparents' house because Auntie Sara/Uncle Dan and Auntie Jess/Uncle Wayne was there. We hadn't seen Emma in a while so I was really eager to see her. We also wanted to see how your Toronto grandpa was doing. He's still in a lot of pain, but it's normal for someone to have gone through surgery to feel that way.

Auntie Jessica is going to hate that I'm posting these pictures of you crying, but I think Emma
looks so cute here!

Emma is one cute girl. She's still quite small, but she's opening her eyes more.

Look how tiny she is in her car seat.

Auntie Jessica has been having a hard time lately because Emma is feeding a lot which means
that Auntie Jess has to wake up every hour to feed her. I keep telling her that it's hard at the
beginning and will get a little easier. Everyone does it. Nobody said it was easy.

Ellie's birthday + my daddy's health

It's been a crazy few days because your Toronto grandpa had to undergo gall bladder surgery on Thursday.
Thank God he is ok, but I totally freaked out when Auntie Sara called me in the morning while I was on my way to work to say that something had happened to him. My heart stopped because she was crying while she was telling me. At the time we didn't know what was wrong with him- just that he had severe stomach pains and had to go to emergency. After work I went to the hospital to see him. He was at the hospital recuperating until today and I had told him to call Dennis and I so that we could pick him up. We did have a birthday party to go to at noon, but we thought my dad would be discharged around 3:30pm, which would give us enough time to enjoy the party.
However, he was discharged earlier than we expected so daddy had to rush out after eating his food to go pick him up. Otherwise it was a great party. You were super tired (as were other toddlers that were at the party) because it was your nap time. I know now that next time I do a party for my 2nd I will NEVER hold a party at noon.

Here is a photo of you and Jacob playing. Jacob and his sister Victoria are so good to you. They are
Patty and Mario's kids (Patty made your birthday cake).

Can you tell that you look a little delirious? It's because you were so tired.

Angela, Ellie's mom (the birthday girl), made the flower lollipops. I think hers were better
than mine! She used these as centrepieces for each table.

Angela also made the banner. I have to give her props. I think she did a great job.

Patty made the cake for the party. It was delicious!

Here's a close-up of the banner. She used Martha Stewart's craft papers because I also have
that too in my craft collection.

For the remainder of the party you stayed seated in your booster chair.

Everyone kept telling me how good you were because you didn't get restless sitting in there.
Angela even came up to me to comment how good you were.

Oh, and I forgot to mention- that's not jajang myun sauce on your face. It's scabs. You
scratched your face a few days ago and had multiple marks on your nose and on your cheeks.
People kept telling me to wipe your face because they thought it was food sauce!

Pastor Jason made a short sermon before we started eating.

Close-up of your "jajang myung sauce".

Near the end of the party you were getting a little restless so I gave you your first lollipop to lick.
You were loving it!

Aigoo aigoo. I just want to squeeze you so hard here!
